Runabout Brewing Orlando Review: Beer, BLGT & a Locals’ Bar Feel
Runabout Brewing Co. on South Orange Avenue in Orlando is one of those places that gets everything right: they brew their own beer, shuck fresh oysters, and run a full kitchen — all under one roof. It’s got the feel of a neighborhood joint where locals gather after work, and after one visit I can tell you I’d definitely go back. Here’s our honest review.

The Beer: Brewed Right Here
They brew their own craft beer on site, and the tap list is deep: IPAs, sours, stouts, lagers, a Mexican lager, even a non-alcoholic option. I went with a flight of four ($12 for four 4oz pours) — the best way to get the lay of the land.

My flight ran Koppenberg (Belgian wit), Please Pardon Yourself (hazy double IPA), Little Green Worm (West Coast pale ale), and Racer X Red (imperial red ale). Honest take: the lineup leans hoppy — hoppier than I usually like — but that’s a me thing, not a them thing. If you love hops, you’ll be very happy here. The quality of the brewing itself is excellent.

The Food: Delicious Bar Food, Done Properly
The kitchen holds up its end completely. The food was delicious across the board.
B.L.G.T. ($13) — my order. Rustic sourdough piled with Applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, a fried green tomato, and pimento spread, with a stack of house-made chips. It’s a BLT that went to finishing school, and I’d order it again without thinking twice.

Loaded Cheese Fries — my guest’s pick, and a beauty: fries buried under cheese sauce, bacon, jalapeños, and pickled onions. Rich, messy, perfect bar food.

The menu goes well beyond bar snacks: entrees like Cajun chicken and hanger steak, wood-fired Neapolitan-style pizza from an 800-degree oven, a full burger lineup, and a raw bar with fresh oysters. There’s plenty of reason to come back hungry.

The Vibe: Where the Locals Gather
This is the part I loved most. It’s a quaint, friendly atmosphere — the kind of place that clearly has regulars, the kind of bar where people gather after work. Modern decor, a big beautiful bar, hop-shaped pendant lights, TVs for the game, and a dining room that stays lively without being chaotic. It feels like a neighborhood place in the best way.

The Service: Friendly and Accommodating
The staff was very friendly and accommodating — welcoming, quick, and genuinely glad you’re there. Exactly what you want from a neighborhood brewpub.
