Helena Modern Riviera Orlando Review: Themed Dining at ICON Park
Helena Modern Riviera on International Drive isn’t just dinner — it’s a full themed production. This Mediterranean-meets-American restaurant inside ICON Park reinvents itself around a rotating theme, and the decor and the menu change to match. When we visited, the theme was Phantom of the Opera, and they committed to it completely. Here’s our honest review.

The Theme: It Changes — and Everything Matches
This is the whole concept: the theme rotates, and when it changes, the restaurant transforms with it. During our visit it was Phantom of the Opera — deep red drapes swagged across the dining room, candelabras by the fireplace, scenes from the show projected on the wall above the tables, and masquerade masks worked into the table settings. Even the menu leans into the theme. It’s immersive without being cheesy, and it makes the meal feel like an event.

The non-themed bones are just as pretty: pampas grass and dried palms around the host stand, a patio with marble tables and big umbrellas, and a gorgeous bar with gold pendant lights and hanging greenery — plus the Phantom’s mask keeping an eye on things.

The Food: Beautifully Presented, Genuinely Delicious
Every plate came out looking like it was styled for a photo shoot — orchid garnishes, dramatic sauce work, the whole Riviera treatment. The good news: it tastes as good as it looks. The food was very delicious across the board.
We started with the fried mozzarella — golden, crisp rounds with tomato sauce and a balsamic flourish — and a prosciutto-topped starter with strawberries and balsamic that balanced salty, sweet, and rich perfectly.

For mains, the glazed salmon with seasoned rice and broccolini was beautifully cooked, and the shrimp over pesto pasta with pistachios was a standout — fresh, herby, with a great crunch from the pistachios.

Dessert was the chocolate molten cake — drenched in chocolate sauce, sprinkled with cookie crumble, and served with strawberries. Save room.

The Bill: Be Prepared
Honesty time: this is an upscale I-Drive experience, and the check reflects it. Between the setting, the presentation, and the location, you’re paying for the full production — be prepared for an expensive bill. We thought it was worth it for a special night out, but go in with eyes open.
The Service: Friendly and Accommodating
The staff was friendly and accommodating — attentive without hovering, and happy to play along with the theme. It all added to the “night out” feel rather than just another dinner.
